HALO Project

Who we are

HALO Project is an adolescent substance misuse service, who works with young people and their families to support them to address problematic alcohol and drug use and related issues. We are the only adolescent designated service in the region of Kildare West Wicklow, who work directly with this particular group of young people.

The staff in Halo are qualified and accredited psychotherapists with many years of experience working with young people and families. We are primarily based in Naas but can offer a service in Celbridge, Athy, Kildare Town and Blessington.

What we do

The HALO Project is a voluntary, therapeutic service that centres around the substance misuse needs of the young person and their family. The project aims to deliver a psycho-social-educational model responding to each case in an evidence based, empathic, holistic and respectful manner.

The staff in Halo will work with you in a non-judgemental, supportive way to identify needs and goals regarding substance misuse and work collaboratively with you to achieve these goals. We offer one to one appointments on a weekly basis where we conduct a couple of assessments to gain a bigger picture of what might be going on for you.

These assessments may highlight areas that we can work on with you to address areas of concern and make the necessary changes to live a healthier lifestyle. We also offer support to parents and guardians regarding the stress that might be caused by their young person’s substance misuse.
